The Islamic Information Center would like to invite the entire community to its First Annual Eid Banquet Dinner at the Idara-e-Jaferia on Saturday November 10th. The keynote speaker for the banquet will be Dr. Vernon Schubel from Kenyon College in Ohio, who will be speaking on "What the West Needs from Islam: The Message of the Ahlul Bayt". In this banquet we will also review what has been a very successful year for the Islamic Information Center. The program will include fundraising to cover IIC's annual expenses and a portion of the fundraising proceeds will be donated to the Idara-e-Jaferia.

Divisive rhetoric is the real threat to nation's unity Cal Thomas seems to be quick to spread accusations, but his opinions are unsupported ("It's time to confront the threat from within," Opinion Commentary, May 21). Mr. Thomas recounted the government's warnings for Americans to be careful of "al-Qaida and other terrorists who wish to destroy us" and then suggested that all Muslims are included in the latter category, branding them "enemies."
