This is a Breaking News Alert

(WASHINGTON D.C. -- May 1, 2011)  Moments ago, President Obama announced on live television that Osama Bin Laden has been killed by US military forces with cooperation from the Pakistani government. The Islamic Information Center commends this action, and believes that Osama Bin Laden was one of the greatest enemies of Islam, if not the entire world.

President Obama said “The US is not, and never will be, at war with Islam. Bin Laden was not a leader of Muslims, [he] was a mass murderer of Muslims ... Indeed he killed scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own.” Pakistani President Zardari said “This is a good and historic day.”

After reports of repeated initial denials, Osama bin Laden claimed responsibility for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. Bin Laden was also responsible for numerous crimes throughout the Middle East, including an alliance with the Taliban, wherein he assisted in the sectarian mass murder of more than six thousand Shi’ite Hazaras in Afghanistan by sending hundreds of troops. Further, he was rumored to be involved in numerous terrorist attacks against innocent Pakistani civilians for several years.

The Islamic Information Center asks that community members take a moment to recite a prayer for the victims of Bin Laden’s worldwide campaign of terrorism.
