| | (WASHINGTON D.C. - July 15, 2008) The Islamic Information Center strongly condemns the atrocities being committed by Taliban and related Takfiri forces in Pakistan against Shia Muslims. According to news, nearly three dozen Shi'ite civilians are killed in daily attacks from the Taliban fighters. Such atrocities are a violation of human rights, and IIC believes that the Pakistani government should take immediate action to prevent further bloodshed.
Furthermore, IIC calls upon the international community to also condemn the attacks that have destroyed countless families, and threaten to destabilize peace efforts throughout the region.
In recent days, there have been bombings, gun attacks, abductions, and beheadings of civilians in the Parachinar, Kurram Agency, Dera Ismail Khan, and Hangu areas of Pakistan. All the victims are of the Shi'ite branch of Islam, and displayed evidence of torture. Fighters are believed to have crossed the border from Afghanistan, or be Takfiri fighters from Pakistan. Despite the fact that local and international media organizations have brought worldwide attention to these attacks, the Pakistani government has not taken any action to halt the violence or restore peace. The Islamic Information Center has compiled just a few of the news reports on the developing crisis, please click below to read them.

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is _________________ and I am a citizen of the United States. (Optional: and I am of Pakistani descent. I migrated to the United States ______________ years/months ago.)
I am greatly appalled and saddened by the recent violence in the Hangu, Dena Ismail Khan, Kurram Agency, and Parachinar areas of Pakistan, and I am writing to you today to request an immediate halt to the violence, and a restoration to peace in those areas. I believe it is vital that the government of Pakistan protect each of its citizens, and that the ongoing crisis must be resolved by the government without further delay.
It is the basic right of every individual to live in peace and harmony, and this right is being violated by the Taliban and Takfiri forces within Pakistan's own borders. I believe that the Pakistani government should show its dedication to fighting terrorism by first protecting its own innocent citizens from such terrible and brazen acts of violence. I further ask that all relevant Pakistani agencies take immediate action to bring the perpetrators of this violence to justice. It is deplorable that these individuals have been able to attack these individuals, in some casings torturing, murdering, and mutilating them.
I condemn all violence against all innocent peoples, and I am writing to your agency today because I believe that your department can be instrumental in resolving this situation. Pakistan must take the responsible action, and stop this violence immediately. Please do not disappoint the international community with further inaction - you must protect your citizens!
Sincerely,
