In continuation of the Islamic Information Center's University Seminar Series, IIC will be hosting a seminar, entitled "Beyond the Elections: Islam, the White House, and 2009" at New York University on November 1st, 2008. This seminar will focus on the necessity of developing a political strategy for Muslims in the United States, and will discuss the necessary steps in achieving goals important to Muslims by engaging different branches of the United States government. The seminar will take place in the New York University Kimmel Center, Room 802, and will begin at 7:00pm on November 1st, 2008. October 2, 2008 The recent Islamic Information Center Annual Iftar, that took place on September 27, 2008 was a great success! The event was attended by nearly 600 guests and was considered a great step forward in Interfaith initiatives.

September 18, 2008 The Islamic Information Center remembers the loss of Imam Ali, the successor to the Holy Prophet, who was killed in Ramadhan in the year 661 C.E. This event was tragic to the entire Muslim community at the time, and is still a time of remembrance and sorrow today.

September 18, 2008 The Islamic Information Center condemns the attack on the United States Embassy in Yemen. The embassy was attacked earlier this week, killing seventeen individuals. These attacks are an atrocity, and completely against the ideals of Islam, which teaches moderation, prayer, fasting, and good will to humanity.
