IIC Main Offices
In early 2007, the Islamic Information Center relocated its main headquarters to the National Press Club building in Washington D.C.  The National Press Club is an international news media hub, home to hundreds of media organizations from around the world, and regularly hosts world leaders and various elected officials from around the nation.  By positioning an office in this location, the Islamic Information Center is uniquely suited to disseminate important Islamic information throughout the world in a professional and instantaneous manner.

(WASHINGTON DC - January 5, 2009) The Islamic Information Center is beginning a nationwide letter writing campaign for the sake of Gaza. This campaign is directed at Senatorial and Congressional Representatives in an attempt to convince elected officials of the need for peace, humanitarian aid, and world intervention in Gaza and throughout the Middle East.

The campaign has already begun in six states, including Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, New York and even Washington DC.

IIC asks that you send letters to senators and congressman demanding that the U.S government do something about the increasing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

If you cannot mail a printed letter, please click this link to send an email to your state representatives. The letter is pre-written, all you are required to do is type in your name and address.

IIC is providing template letters and all that must be done is put your name and address and mail it out. Template letters are provided below. This will take only a few minutes of your time, but will have great effects on the lives of the innocent people of Gaza.

Each letter is asking for the following three things:

1) An immediate and unconditional cease-fire.

2) Humanitarian aid to be provided to the people of Gaza as soon as possible

3) Push for monitoring of the conflict and any ceasefire by the United Nations. Such a situation requires that outside neutral agencies be involved, so as to help mediate the peace and prevent further violence. The United Nations is best suited for such monitoring, and can help bring peace to both sides of the conflict.

Here are the tools you need in this letter writing campaign.

First are the template letters that IIC has compiled. They are in MS Word 2003 format, and available for FREE download and distribution.

Second, the names and addresses of your congressional and senatorial representatives can be found by clicking here for Congress, and here for the Senate.

Lastly, all you need to do is print out the letters, write your names and addresses and send them to the appropriate representatives.

If you are interested in utilizing your mosque or center to mount a large scale initiative, please contact IIC Executive Director Rahat Husain by emailing him.

While we cannot say what will bring peace to Palestine, or if this initiative will be successful - IIC believes that it is the duty of all peace loving people to try. Please join this effort and do everything that you can to help.
