March 6, 2009 The Islamic Information Center condemns the recent remarks made by Saudi Arabian Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz on the national Saudi television show "Al Majd" and demands that the Saudi national networks immediately repudiate the remarks made on this show. On the show, in response to a question asked by a caller, Mufti Aziz made defamatory remarks regarding the family of Prophet Muhammad (May God Bless them). The remarks amounted to saying that the Prophet's family members should ask for forgiveness after they were brutally murdered more than 1,300 years ago for refusing to submit to tyrannical and barbaric leaders. Due to the incredible amount of misinformation being propagated by misinformed sources, such as Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz, the Islamic Information Center challenges the producers of the "Al Majd" television show, or even Mufti Abdul Aziz himself, to a nationally televised debate on Saudi network television, regarding the events of Imam Husain's life, the nature of the Prophet's family, and the concept of allegiance.
