Imam Safdar Razi has been released from his detention facility in Texas. He has agreed to voluntarily leave the country, and will depart in approximately two weeks. Until then, he is required to stay in his hometown Dallas area.

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is giving $1.5 billion to poor, primarily Muslim nations suffering from the global food crisis. The majority of the money will go to some of the least developed states, largely in Africa. The money will buy farmers fertilizer and seed along with research funds to increase and improve crops.

This was the first in a hopefully larger series of meetings involving rival Palestinian parties, Fatah and Hamas, resolved in "leveling divergences and reconciling the Palestinian family." | "World's first church" discovered by Jordan archaeologists

"We have uncovered what we believe to be the first church in the world, dating from 33 AD to 70 AD," Abdul Qader al-Husan, head of Jordan's Rihab Center for Archaelogical Studies, said. He also stated his belief that the church sheltered the 70 disciples of Christ. The church was unearthed in Rihab, from beneath the 1,778 year-old Saint Gergeous Church.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy's decision to restore ties with Damascus led to the official visit of Syrian culture minister, Riad Nassan Agha. All people "irrespective of their race, religion, culture or country" were demanded to band as one and support a culture of "peace and tolerance" at the international conference on interfaith diaglouge that took place at Al-Safa Palace in Mecca. The conference was organized by the Muslim World League (MWL) and asked Muslims to work side-by-side with all cultures of this world to resolve global issues. |
