A June email sent by Paul Ruff, a county assessor, contained language that was intolerant and hateful towards the American-Muslim community. The email primarily aimed to tell immigrants that they need to adapt to the lifestyle of their new home. Many Muslim organizations have expressed concern over the possibility of a government sanctioned anti-Islam congress in Germany. The Organization of Islamic Conference feels that such an event would only hinder all interfaith dialogue among nations, as well as increase Islamophobia in Europe. Recently, a US based group, Muslim Congress, met with a Pakistani delegation to discuss the recent violence in Parachinar and Kurram Agency areas of Pakistan. | | Al-Qaida Admits To Bombing | August 23, 2008
A recent string of bombings in Algeria is being claimed by Al-Qaida, an African offshoot of Al-Qaeda. The death toll is being estimated at over 130 killed, with the number injured still undetermined. The group is attributing the attacks due to a recent election loss. Algerians, initially supporting Al-Qaida, withdrew their support following the massacres carried out by the terrorist organization.
