A June email sent by Paul Ruff, a county assessor, contained language that was intolerant and hateful towards the American-Muslim community. The email primarily aimed to tell immigrants that they need to adapt to the lifestyle of their new home. Local American-Muslims are offended by this because to them America is a melting pot, welcoming and accepting of all people, and Ruff's statements believe that. Many Muslim organizations have expressed concern over the possibility of a government sanctioned anti-Islam congress in Germany. The Organization of Islamic Conference feels that such an event would only hinder all interfaith dialogue among nations, as well as increase Islamophobia in Europe. Recently, a US based group, Muslim Congress, met with a Pakistani delegation to discuss the recent violence in Parachinar and Kurram Agency areas of Pakistan. A recent string of bombings in Algeria is being claimed by Al-Qaida, an African offshoot of Al-Qaeda. The death toll is being estimated at over 130 killed, with the number injured still undetermined. The group is attributing the attacks due to a recent election loss. Algerians, initially supporting Al-Qaida, withdrew their support following the massacres carried out by the terrorist organization.
