| | (WASHINGTON DC - September 3, 2008) For the past few months, Pakistan has been in a state of violence, as anti-terrorism efforts in nearby countries have pushed Taliban and Al Qaeda operatives to retreat into Pakistan. Using Pakistan as a base of operations, Taliban and other extremist groups have launched numerous attacks against US-Coalition forces and innocent Shi'ite Muslims in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Some of the more egregious attacks have been focused on the Parachinar area of Pakistan.
Accordingly, the Islamic Information Center has researched the issue and compiled a special report on the matter. This report analyzes the security situation, the history of the conflict, and possible solutions to the ongoing crisis.
This report is being distributed to all areas of the government, including members of Congress, Senate, the State Department, Department of Homeland Security, and multiple media agencies across the United States.
