In early 2007, the Islamic Information Center relocated its main headquarters to the National Press Club building in Washington D.C.  The National Press Club is an international news media hub, home to hundreds of media organizations from around the world, and regularly hosts world leaders and various elected officials from around the nation.  By positioning an office in this location, the Islamic Information Center is uniquely suited to disseminate important Islamic information throughout the world in a professional and instantaneous manner.

(WASHINGTON DC - December 9, 2008) On this most blessed occasion, the Islamic Information Center would like to congratulate the global Muslim community for the completion of the Holy ceremonies of Hajj and the celebration of Eid al Adha.

Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide in commemoration of the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The Devil tempted Prophet Ibrahim by saying he should disobey God and spare his son. As Prophet Ibrahim was about to sacrifice his son, God intervened saving Prophet Ibrahim, and replacing the sacrifice with a greater sacrifice to be taken at a later era. This story is marked in the Holy Quran, as well as the Bible and Torah, signifying how important this event is in the combined history of mankind. The trials and life of Prophet Ibrahim are symbolized within the Islamic Hajj, which culminates on this Holy occasion.
